For those that don't know, The Beacon Ponds Little Tern Project is led by Spurn Bird Observatory, with the aim of protecting Little Terns.
They work with the local community, employ wardens and carry out regular monitoring to protect the ground nesting area for the Terns.
Thanks to the hard work of the wardens, it was a record-breaking year for the Little Terns! There were 105 pairs, which fledged 107 chicks!
However this year the project is at risk!
Due to a lack of funding, the site can no longer afford to support wardens for the nesting season.
We are asking for people to check out their GoFundMe page.
If you can't donate, please share the page so we can help protect the Terns in 2026.
