Great British Beach Clean

The Great British Beach Clean is hosted by Marine Conservation Society and runs from Friday 19th to Sunday 28th September this year.

It's a citizen science event, where hundreds of volunteers around the UK come together to clean beaches and collect useful data that helps inform Marine Conservation Society's work. They've been a key charity in the UK working to tackle marine litter, and their data has helped with banning microplastics in personal care products, to the introduction of the plastic bag charge.

You can get involved in Beach Cleans and Litter Picks at any time of the year, and there are other brilliant organisations you can join like Keep Britain Tidy. At Humber Nature Partnership, we host our local Barton RiverCare, and will be hosting our next litter pick along the Humber Estuary on 16th September - we hope to see you there!
