Industry and Nature in Harmony

Our Estuary is a new series exploring the many facets of the Humber Estuary.  It is produced by Estuary TV in partnership with Humber Nature Partnership.  It looks at the relationships between the estuary’s wonderful natural environment, its bustling industry and some of the people who help these thrive.

Through the series presenters Sara Beasley , a local writer and performer, and James Thurlow, a marine scientist working and living on the banks of the estuary, visit major landmarks such as the Humber Bridge, The Deep and Spurn Point and look at its varied wildlife at reserves such as North Cave and Blacktoft, where they are introduced to the wild Konik ponies.  They also see kingfishers and lampreys and get familiar with the very stuff the estuary is made of – mud - by taking trips on a survey hovercraft at Cleethorpes and on the harbour master's survey boat at Immingham.

The shows are broadcast on Estuary TV (Freeview Channel 8 and Virgin Media Channel 159) around the Humber Estuary and are also available via Estuary TV's YouTube channel.
