Humber Hounds has been busy this summer attending a number of dog shows and holding dog training at Theddlethorpe Saltfleetby Dunes and the Humber Bridge Country Park. A regular dog walking group has also started in Barton. Dog walkers have also been supporting the project via facebook where there are now over 100 people following the news feeds.

Centrica staff at Glanford Brigg Power Station celebrated World Biodiversity Day on 5th June by converting further areas of amenity grassland at the plant to wildflower meadow and building and installing bird and bat boxes at the site.

Tides are the rise and fall of sea levels caused by the combined effects of the gravitational forces exerted by moon and the sun and the rotation of the Earth. Other natural cycles such as the lunar nodal cycle also affect tides.

Following the success of their community tree planting project during National Tree Week last year when HNP member, Novartis Grimsby, planted over 1,700 trees at Habrough in conjunction with north Lincs Council, the Parish Council and Humber Conservation Volunteers, their involvement ensured the project continued apace on their Community Partnership Day on 20th May this year with the planting of hundreds of woodland wildflowers and the restoration of a wildlife pond at the site.
